    Academic Libraries of Brooklyn (ALB)

    City Tech students may visit, study, and use resources at other college libraries in Brooklyn. This is possible through the Academic Libraries of Brooklyn (ALB). They may borrow up to two (2) books at a time from these locations. City Tech does not permit lending books through the ALB, though ALB visitors to the City Tech Library can use materials on site. City Tech students must request an ALB card at the Borrow & Return Desk before visiting an ALB library. The card allows access to the following non-CUNY libraries: Other libraries that students can visit with exceptions: St. Joseph’s College
    • No visits for studying due to space limitations.
    • Students must call ahead of your visit to borrow books.
    NYU Tandon School of Engineering
    • Students will need to request advance permission to visit NYU Tandon.
    • Request a visit at the Ask A Librarian Desk of the City Tech Library.

    METRO

    The Metropolitan New York Library Council, or METRO, is an organization of libraries and library systems. It spans the five boroughs of NYC and Westchester County. It is a diverse group of academic, public, hospital and special libraries. The City Tech library offers yellow title METRO referral cards. The cards allow access to on-site books unavailable at CUNY or frp, local public libraries.For more information, read our METRO card policy.

    Manhattan Research Library Initiative

    MaRLI  is a partnership between New York Public Library, Columbia University, and New York University. Any NYPL cardholder who has exhausted local research resources is eligible to borrow select research materials from Columbia and NYU Libraries. NYPL cardholders may register for MaRLI .
